Greetings!
My name is Alexander Spiridonov. I am a sculptor and founder of the best Russian school of sculpture and anatomy Sculpt Art. Also I am a co-author of courses for plastic surgeons on human face anatomy.

As a sculptor and an anatomist I truly believe that understanding of anatomy is a powerfull tool for creating convincing realistic portraits and sculptures. But as an employer and a teacher I realise that it is not easy to find a good portraitist with deep knowelege of this tool.
Why is it happening?
Because for many sculptors it seems to be enough to have talent and be recognized at exhibitions. But modeling based only on feelings without applying knowledge of anatomy rarely helps to achieve vividness and persuasiveness of a portrait.
There is a lot of information, but also a lack of knowledge and experience. It seems that the information is everywhere, you just need to read a dozen books, study the atlas, and watch a couple of tutorials on YouTube. But this is a difficult, long and unproductive path and not good to everyone. Anatomy is a tool that can only be mastered in practice and only under the guidance of a good anatomist.
Our course Anatomy for Sculptors. Nose, Eyes & Lips is just a part of our complex facial anatomy course.

Anyway, it'll give you full understanding of these facial elements. We'll analyze all the tendons and ligaments, cartilage and muscles, fats and their effect on the shape of the face. We'll talk about variability of small forms depending on a person's age, gender, ethnicity and facial expressions.
This course is based on all our knowledge and many years of experience, gained on practice, participation in a thousand of seminars and cadavers
This course is not about ZBrush or 3D modeling. We teach anatomy using digital technology as a tool for practice. We use only a few basic brushes and masks. Modern sculptors should be able to work both traditionally and digitally to increase they significance in the field and expand their opportunities. So, if you want to take the course, but can't work in ZBrush, it's time to learn it. Try our intro lesson for free.

I've learnt how to use ZBrush in a couple of days. So can you!

We will find and draw all the elements on the references and sculpt them.
Lips, taught by Alexander Spiridonov

You will study the lips in section, have a detailed look at them from different angles and talk about the importance of bite and fat volume in lips anatomy.

You will learn how our lips develop with age, from the embryo to a person with age-related changes and what are the ethnic differences in anatomy of human lips.

You will draw schemes of lips' proportions and structures on specially prepared graphic outlines and references.
And than you will sculpt them using that knowlege.
